Wimberley Custom
Home Builders
Custom homes on Hill Country acreage,
built for the way the Wimberley Valley actually sits.

Building in Wimberley, Texas
Wimberley is a different build from the Comal County side of the Hill Country, and pretending otherwise is how projects go sideways. Different county, different permitting office, different groundwater rules, and a river that has rewritten the floodplain map in living memory.
Summit Oak Builders has been building custom homes across the Texas Hill Country for more than 20 years. We take on a limited number of homes at a time, which is the only honest way to give an owner the access and attention a custom build actually requires. You will know your builder by name.
What Wimberley lots reward is patience at the front end. The valley is steep, the rock is shallow, water is a genuine planning question rather than a utility connection, and the lot you fall in love with may sit somewhere the county will not let you put a septic field. We work that out before you are committed.
What building in Wimberley actually involves
Wimberley is an incorporated city, but the Wimberley address covers a great deal of unincorporated Hays County around it. Which side of that line you are on changes who permits the build — and out here, several agencies beyond the county have a say.
Where we build around Wimberley
We build throughout the Wimberley Valley and the surrounding Hays County Hill Country, including the tracts along Ranch Road 12, Ranch Road 32 and the Blanco River corridor.
We also build in San Marcos, Blanco, Canyon Lake, Spring Branch, Bulverde and Seguin. See all of our communities.
About Wimberley
Wimberley sits in a valley where Cypress Creek meets the Blanco River, and the town has spent decades resisting the pull to become something other than what it is. The square still anchors it. Jacob’s Well and Blue Hole are minutes away. Cypress trees line the water.
It is a place people choose deliberately. Austin is close enough for work when it has to be, San Antonio reachable the other direction, and Wimberley ISD serves the valley. But nobody ends up here by accident — they come for the landscape and the pace, and they tend to stay.
That character shapes what gets built. Homes here sit into the land rather than on top of it, and the ones that look right twenty years on are the ones designed around the slope, the trees and the light rather than against them.
